A founding member of 'Souled Out' Kenny was our drummer untill his death from cancer in the summer of 2008.
Generous and good natured to the end, Kenny was a supportive friend to all in the band.
Kenny's undoubted ability and enthusiasm for drumming, was matched only by his capacity to find humour in the most unlikely (and potentially stressfull) of circumstances.
Below is what the original Souled Out website said about Kenny.
Kenny Hoyle's drumming career began at the age of six and since that time
he has rarely been seen without a pair of drumsticks in his hands, which
has made life difficult at times!
Self taught, Kenny gives his early influences as Simon Kirke, later
being followed by Idris Mohammed, Harold Fisher, and the late,
great Buddy Rich.
Kenny's drumming career spanning over thirty five years,
has seen him play with a variety of bands, and with
such diverse musicians, as Blues legend Victor Brox,
and Wendel Richardson (Osibisa and Free).
His touring schedule has covered most towns and
cities in Great Britain, including the Edinburgh Jazz
and Blues Festival, Birmingham Jazz and Blues,
Bradford International Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival
and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
He has performed with a variety of Rock, Country,
Soul and Blues Bands.
